The updated palm tree is definitely better. But still there is too much symmetry. Could you try an odd number of leaves? Maybe you add 1 or 3 leaves. I know that it will be mirror symmetric anyway, but I was also thinking that some more leaves could improve the tree. Thanks for your work!

Btw. who is the graphics elder at the time being? Maybe he/she could give some advice for the direction concerning the game art assets?

As far as I know, no one took over since Chuck left (Also according to the developers page) . I know a bit about the technical (blender/bzr) side of things, since I worked on that, but I'm not around too much lately. Anyone else who contributed significantly to the media is either not around, or more into the coding side (like of course SirVer or Nasenbaer). So I guess until someone as enthusiastic as Chuck comes around the community and/or SirVer will have the final say.

I really like the gentle sway on your new trees. I can imagine a nice cool breeze flowing through the leaves. The trees do currently stand out because, in my opinion, of the angle that the leaves are at, and the fact that they seem to be hanging at similar angles. They'd look a bit more natural if they hung differently and maybe if they were different lengths. The detail looks really good!

Here is an update on the palm tree:

Are the leaves OK now? If so I start to make the growing versions.

That is looking much better! Is there a chance we could see a whole screen to see it in a more normal context?

Cool, the new palm tree looks really good face-smile.png

It's a little bit higher than the other trees, but they can grow very large in reality, too.

I really like the palm tree but will there be light from left and shadow like with the other trees, or will that be handled later by the game renderer? It should in any way not stand out with other trees, in my opinion, the other trees are also very tall. And if this tree would be much taller indeed (they can reach 100 ft / 30 m) than the trunk would be relatively thinner. I looked at some photo's and very tall palm trees are also very thin with only a few leaves at the top. This one resembles a firm one. There is one thing that I regret and that is that the leaves end in a straight line. If these leaves could become narrower to the end than the tree would look very realistic.

I hope that I am not too critical on this. But when I look at the other graphics in this game, it looks as if this critical approach is not an exception. I would never be so critical if I had to compare the image with my own creatures.

Is there any Standard-Environemt for Blender-3D-Rendering for Scenery that ArtWorkers don't have to figure out similar Settings to get similar Results?
