Hello together,

I install the 1.1 version. As I try to start I get a screen with green lines. Unfortunatley it´s unable to play with it? Do you have expaeriace with that before?

To help diagnose the problem, please tell us which operating system you use, and post the log output that you get when starting Widelands from a terminal (instructions in case you use Windows).

Unfortunately some video graphics driver do have problems with OpenGl. I guess your are using an Intel graphics card, but please provide your graphics card and the used OS (e.g. Windows or Linux). Depending on your OS you should also provide some output:

  • Linux: Start widelands from the command line, this should give some information about your graphics
  • Windows: Please search for file named `stdout.txt', this should contain also some information

My installation shows:

[00:00:00.229 real] INFO: Graphics: SDL_GL_BLUE_SIZE is 8

[00:00:00.230 real] INFO: Graphics: SDL_GL_BUFFER_SIZE is 24

This means that your graphics driver expects colour values with 32 bits, of which 10 each are for the R,G,B components and 2 for the A component; while my driver uses the more common 24-bit layout with 8,8,8,0 bits for the components.

I can't test this directly since it's driver-specific, but I'll look into it this weekend…

Could you please install the following modified version and see if this changes anything:

Maybe this fixes it, or maybe it won't even start. In any case it has additional logging output that will help to diagnose the problem.

If this doesn't fix it I'll need a screenshot of the problem to further troubleshoot it.
