Hello everyone! I am new to the forums. I was wanting to know if someone haves a strategy for the blue player in The Nile. I always, when playing, end in a wood shortage, thing that causes the entire economy to break.

Hello denmanuel and welcome to the forums face-smile.png

Although the area where trees do grow is limited, the Nile has normally enough space for trees and wood. Some hints:

  • keep the area where trees can grow (green terrain) free from buildings and roads (dismantle e.g. military buildings)
  • a forester don't need to be connected to the roadnetwork, once build you can cut the road to the forester which may adds free nodes for trees
  • stop the shipyard once you have some ships
  • limit wood for production buildings who needs wood, or stop them
  • farms do work on sandy terrains

Hopefully this helps.

denmanuel which tribes do you play? Atlanteans, Barbarians and Amazons need a lot of wood. Empire needs far less and Frisians even less than that.

Wood grows better on "greener" land. Try reserve that for those picky vegetables. : ) IIRC Nile is mostly yellow sand though...

Ok, but at the beggining, (playing as Blue) there is a great space for a Quarry to the right. Do I need to leave that place for the trees?

It depends on the tribe you are playing.

In Empire, is needed?

Well, generally when playing Empire you should use Quarries where ever some rocks are.

Can you provide a save game?

Can't you overlap a forest with a quarry? As the rocks vanish the trees take their place? Just a thought.

Using the green area just for Lumberjacks and Foresters.
