I think I just noticed that if you destroy a sentry with 2 soldiers in it 1 burns to DEATH! Is this true and whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? --

The second soldier doesn't die. What happens is that both soldiers are walking on the exact same spot and in the exact same direction, so you see only one because the other one is perfectly obscured. Chance is that they stay that way all the time until they reach a warehouse, though if they wander around aimlessly because there are no flags nearby they may separate. Just watch the soldier stats overview window: Destroying the sentry does not change your total soldier count.

Oh that's a relief... I was going to start laboriously sending out the soldiers and only destroying the houses when 1 was left. Phew. --
