For everyone who is interested in following the development:

http://widelands.8-schuss.de/

Here you can always download the latest svn build for windows. I am trying to build a new one once a week or after major changes/bugfixes.

Great! I will have to download this once in a while to a new folder and add my changes to it!

New build available:

http://widelands.8-schuss.de/Widelands-svn3821-win32.exe

This is the first windows build which features saving config, savegames and replays into the users directory on windows platforms!

I've tested it with Vista, when you are using this build on Win98/2K/XP please leave a short message here in the forum if it is working correctly...

First real GGZ supporting(Metaserver) build face-wink.png :

http://rapidshare.com/files/240818297/Widelands-Build14pre1-GGZ-win32.exe.html

The file is currently hosted on rapidshare and it seems as if only 10 people can download it before it will get deleted so if you know a better way - please upload the file and post the link here. -> Tino is on holidays so unfortunally I could not ask him :).

I've got some space to host it, but it would be good if somebody else would do so as well.

After installation when starting I get the message that zlib1.dll was not found. The same message I got after starting this version: http://widelands.8-schuss.de/Widelands-svn4196-win32.exe Any idea?

you can download zlib1.dll (just goole it, there are several sites that provide downloads of missing dll's

Otherwise we(you) have to wait till Tino gets back. he has the most experience providing windows builds.

Also on a side note: widelands now supports --logfile=FILENAME so even on windows platforms the debug build should provide some good debugging information in case somethings goes wrong after the game starts

New svn build is hopefully a bit more stable ggz support (and zlib1.dll) :

(the downloadlink is nearly at the bottom "Save file to your PC: click here")
