I have an idea to create some new missions connected to the reality. First I was thinking about greek/ roman mitology (for Empire) but all the miths are connected with one person. And then: what about 300 of Spartiate (there was a movie about them), and of course The Troy war. History of Odysseus is connected with the second s story and it can have more than 1 mission face-smile.png

And I need your oppinion if it is a good idea. I will need some help with good scripting and some map testers face-smile.png

If it's bad idea, I will make some other things face-wink.png But tell me, if it is!

I personally do not think it is a good idea to link Widelands into reality. I prefer it being something of its own - however I would be very interested in new scenarios and would definitively playtest them given they are reasonably advanced and polished. It should be easy to come up with new characters and make something similar to odysseus story - sounds like a cool idea to me.

Like this idea very much! The more missions to play without net the better for (poor) people like me with a small bandwidth.... face-smile.png

Sounds great! I think that there's a far cry from linking to reality, and drawing ideas for maps/scenarios from myths.

The story of the 300 Spartans could be played out with a number of highly-trained soldiers and a small pass. Maybe you have to fight off the hordes to be able to build your warehouse and expand your empire?
