I just posted the text about the tournament --> but this on on the side and not on top that everybody can see this.

I would also create a new event (tournament) and add some self-made screen shots .

So yes, if it is okay i can take care of the FB site. Just write me an PN.

I'm excited about the idea of another tournament and the 2 vs 2 format. I think that using the development versions remains the best idea. If we had used the release versions in the previous tournaments we would have missed out on a lot of improvements and, importantly, a lot of constructive feedback.

I think the features and refinements with each new release are something that the developers can be proud of. You do a fantastic job and it really shows when playing the game. A lot of effort goes into Widelands and it bears much fruit.

I think it's the best to play development versions and build 18. I agree with simplypeachy that playing the dev.versions has brought a benefit in finding bugs and then the developers improving the game.
Everyone is used to play another version, so there will be no solution to which everyone is perfectly accustomed to. But you can determine the version you want to play in the next game as soon as you know your next opponent, so you can have a look at the version before the tournament game if you want to.

I was trying to play Widelands through my home network and major problem there was 32-bit systems on some computers. Build 18 is for both 32 and 64 -bit systems, but new, dev versions aren't for 32-bit Windows. So there is a request for Tino to provide 32-bit installers for 32-bit Windows users during tournament. (Or it is not possible? face-sad.png )

It is probably possible, though currently only 64bit builds are made for Windows. It's discussed a bit more in detail here but the 32bit build environment ran in parallell with the 64bit one for a while until it encountered a bug. Due to lack of disk space and since most people will be running a 64bit OS, this hasn't been addressed yet.

We have 17 registrations for the tournament. Great that there are so many! But as an odd number of participants is not possible, I extended the registration period until january 6th. Is there anyone else who wants to play?
If it remains an odd number of participants, I can participate as a player too.

I see that the bracket has been posted. How and when will the players/teams be informed of their match details? We're almost there :-)

I am thinking the coming weekend will be an interesting one, filled with the thundering of workers' feet and the swishing of the farmers' scythes.

i liked the idea about the Bracket, but there doesn't have the vertical lines of the groups "B" and "A". Even though it is just for the pre-eliminaries.
