I suggest to save the game window settings when saving a game so they'll be loaded when the savegame is loaded. For example, I set buildhelp on, building statistics on, the minimap on, and place the minimap in the top right corner of the window, then save my game and quit. I think it would be good if all that was still there when I load my game - the minimap still there, buildhelp still on etc.

a good idea, but i think it will require a bit of work in how we deal with some of our options.

also we would have to be very carefull we never get to an unplayable state. what i mean with that is that pressing 's' 'c' 'space' is easy and fast. but if the game is saved in such a way that all the building properties would open up off-screen then we would need another way to fix that other than saving & reloading the game. this is just an example of that if we save everything it might not always help people. still i like the idea

Well, it's been a while since this suggestion was made, so I think it's a good time to bring it up again.

When I play Widelands, I normally open the stock window to know what I've got and some other windows like some buildings I want to watch or just to jump quickly to another important part of the map without using the mini map itself. But every time I reload, I have to open up those windows again and have to choose, where to position it. It would be nice, to have that saved, too. (As I see it, the states of the c- and s-options are saved by now - bzr5560.)

And: Good work! face-wink.png
