Hello Jenc and welcome to the forums It looks like you are running a very old version of Widelands, apparently build 21 or earlier, which indeed does not yet contain the newer Amazon tribe. I recommend upgrading to the newest version (currently 1.2.1). If it is already installed, you should also explicitly uninstall the older version to ensure the correct version is used for playing. If you don't want to upgrade and really do want to use the older version, you cannot use maps designed for a later version of Widelands; the Download page shows the minimum required Widelands version for each map; so maps requiring version 1.x cannot be played with v0.21. Widelands did not check this compatibility in the game prior to v1.2. ![]() ![]() |

Hi, linux mint 21.3 "Vanessa" relies on the packages of Ubuntu 22.04 which ships not widelands version 1.2.1, instead it relies on widelands version 21. See here in the table on the right side. Three solutions:
This is an issue of LTS linux systems. They are always behind the current official software builds. For servers it is a good goal, for personal use it is sometimes annoying (not to mention for developers of normal software). You should really consider upgrading your os, you'll have to do that anyway soon. ![]() ![]() |
