as pointed out in the second row Pachiquima is the daughter of Kapiqori not yumallapa I believe. so this should be probably corrected in the first line.

Good catch, was a copy-paste error, I've corrected it now.

I've finished the scenario and I like the story and the great work you put into it too.

I agree with hessenfarmer that you could remove some of the general tutorial texts, even if you target it to be a beginner campaign (like Barbarians). An advisor/friend would indeed be much nicer than the exclamation mark icon, which to me was quite alien to the general style of the game. Also, please make the objective texts (the part that will be shown in the objective menu) short and to the point, only describing the end result, not the actions and steps needed. Those should only be shown in the message box introducing the objective.

The instructions for rare tree plantation/cutter should mention that you may have to wait until the worker gets enough experience, and please don't give step-by-step instructions of select/click/select/etc.

Some suggestions to help keep the player occupied:

  • She could make the excuse to the scout to make him wait that she wants to make some gold jewellery to make her a worthy bride for a god: ie. parallel objective with expand/build ship: build a furnace and produce 5 gold bars (possible interlude when furnace is ready).
  • As an experienced player, I missed the possibility to build warehouses and a tapir farm to speed up the expansion. These could be enabled either silently for those who want them, or they could be mentioned tutorial-style.

Sounds good, I will work on the Amazons (which probably need to be renamed to Amazonians to avoid confusion) after the Frisian campaign that I do now. One of the characters in the Frisian campaign is an Amazon. I used for her the look of real life Amazon tribes rather than an Inca look. If you prefer the Inca look, please let me know so I change it up for your campaign. https://codeberg.org/eugenia/widelands-paintings/src/branch/main/tests/Linthesilea.jpg

I think your painting works both ways.

I agree, but I think a slightly darker skin tone would be better, most of the people I have met in my life
that come from south america have had a more brown skin.

@DyingSettler re timing:

I finished the scenario in 3 hours and 11 minutes (gametime) in a relaxed way, ie. I didn't feel rushed at all. Actually it wasn't clear to me that there was a time limit until I looked at the code, and it wasn't clear from the story that the long delays between messages were supposed to be the scout's trip time. After all, the villages are quite close to each other on the game map. But I have no idea how this could be made clearer to the player.

well, I must say I like the first amazon picture very much and it is quite near what the monk carvajal described in his diary except that he describes they wore their long black hair in pigtails during combat (@Ron_of_Nord they were explicitly described as light-skinned).
And although they fought nearly naked (for reasons of better agility I suppose), I believe we could safely assume they wore robes in daily live and they wore jewelry in ritualistic or official occasions.
So for the image of linthesilea the current look is fine as she approaches the frisians in war, but for other amazon pictures it might be good to make them wear some robe.

@DyingSettler,
I agree totally with @tothxa, it took me nearly the same time, I missed the warehouses and tapoirs as well, and I wondered about the near village.
maybe this can be solved by showing the red village first when the daughter get send out, and afterwards hide it when the outpost is founded.

Thank you for the feedback, I've added more color to her (although it's difficult to do it after the fact with traditional methods, because it messes up the layers underneath, but I think it came out ok -- it's drying now).

I will add a robe with some decorations on the rest of the tribe paintings.
