Well, as much as I would love to have Gauls in the game, making them an official tribe is usually a long process of a lot of discussions here in the forum and / or on github. For me you seemed not to like such discusions much, when you first presented the Sumatrans, which I also would have liked to be an "official" tribe, wouldn't they change the amazons. So if you really want to take this lenghty, frustrating and painful road, you would be more then welcome from my side.

That is true, I don't like discussing things too much. The problem with Sumatrans was that I didn't want them to be playable on winter terrain like Amazons are because it is a tropical tribe. And I wanted them also to be harder for playing approximately on Frisian level, slower start and in comparison to Atlanteans and Amazons, less strong in longer games. The Gauls should not need world changes and as for difficulty, the tribe should be somewhere between Empire and Lutas' Atlanteans, so it should be kind of a standard tribe. But I don't feel like discussing things on github anyway

Creating full worker animations is a huge amount of work, so it's unlikely to happen anytime soon. (I really admire past graphicians who made the look of Widelands so polished.) OTOH for the development of an add-on tribe, you may get away with unanimated 2D-drawn graphics. That would at least give the tribe a unique look. However, I think you should avoid making them look too similar to any non-free copyrighted material to avoid future legal problems.

I admire the old graphics too. There are so many details in it and it is really nice.
This also came to my mind. It wouldn't probably be very good to copy the Asterix-Obelix look too much. This copyright legal things are very bad. When you are in alignment with the system it creates an illusion that you are actually benefiting out of your work. When you are not, you will never benefit out of your work anyway. But what do we expect, when the whole world we are living in is actually stolen, right. The forbidden apple of Eden twisted into something, which should never be twisted into. Or should it? Who knows. We are still waiting for the answer, what will be the outcome of this all? The parasites can't sustain themselves forever or can they? Anyway, I will not hurry with this idea. It can be realised any time later.

I think that I can have a well-balanced original tribe in 4-5 weeks and it will be fun to do this, the biggest part of work from my point of view is graphics and that is not fun for me and I don't want to force anyone into doing that neither. I just thought that maybe there could be someone, who would like to create a new graphics so why not to ask. I could still create a new tribe without graphics but as long as the tribe doesn't have its own graphics, you don't get the impression that you are actually playing a new tribe.
