Thank you very much, great artwork I especially love the portrait of Murilius: the look in his face captures his personality as I envisioned him perfectly! I'm a little unsure if Hauke's portrait fits him very well, I characterised him as more of an old sage wise-man and administrator, usually calm and peaceable; in the portrait, he appears rather fierce, active, intense. In itself the painting looks very good and may well show him when he was thirty years younger. The portraits of Reebaud, Maukor, and Linthesilea fit their respective characters very well Best regards, ![]() ![]() |

The second batch was uploaded on my codeberg. Only the loading screen is left for the Frisian campaign. I'm thinking of a scene from everyday life.

I will do one loading-screen painting today or tomorrow and see what everyone thinks. If you like the style and it helps put gamers into mood about the everyday lives of the settlers, we can go ahead for the other campaigns too. If not, that's cool, I'd only have spent time for 1 painting and i can just post it on my social media... I can just focus on portraits after that. I see, yeah. I did make him a bit Elvish, being a mythical tribe, but I can edit the portrait with Gimp to remove the elvish ears. Is the rest of the attire ok though, or you'd prefer them all blond with dark blue robes? My issue with "uniforms" is that in real life, people have much more differentiated attire. Even the Romans, they weren't wearing all white (the marble statues have lost their colors, so now we all think that their robes were all white). as already stated the attire looks perfectly well I like the robe and the aristocratic impression in the face. Hair and eye colour should be free although maybe more blondes then others ![]() ![]() |

I like Angadthur a lot as he is, though I agree with hessenfarmer about the ears. Not sure about Claus Lembeck. He is a knight of both Frisia and Denmark, and Denmark is always represented as an Empire in Widelands so he is more like a mixture of equal parts Frisian warrior and the Imperial type. Also, in Widelands only the Barbarians wield axes and the Frisians look down on them for being too battle-loving; Frisians only use swords. The look in his face fits him well although IMHO the scar seems rather too distracting. I like Henneke's portrait a lot, his general posture with the sword and the look in his face capture his backstory and personality really well Love Iniucundus and the new Hauke Regarding backgrounds, each campaign has its own set of background designs. The Barbarian and Imperial campaigns have a map showing the journey progress, and the Frisians have a real photograph illustrating the landscape wherein each mission is set. I don't think we should change this TBH. But Atlanteans and Amazons could do with entirely new loading screens and I think your style would fit very well for them. ![]() ![]() |
