Bit of a weird one...

I started playing Widelands with my son last night but today I can't connect to the website from my home network at all. connections to port 80 and 443 time out over IPv4. If I switch to my mobile provider I have no issues (so using that to post this query).

Any ideas on what would cause access / connectivity to just die?

Hi and welcome to the forums,
most probably a problem of your provider or your router.
Definitly something that could not be caused by playing widelands.

That's what I suspected at first too but turned out it was actually a block on the widelands website side (we visited the website too much trying to figure out the rules, dependencies I guess!).

Fortunately someone reached out and access is restored now.

Used to play Settlers II many years ago (with two mice no less) and now starting to play Widelands with my son.

Glad it was sorted out.
I wish you a lot of fun playing with your son.
