Edit: I sent a previous reply and got a message that a moderator would review. I expected the same of this message but it went ahead and posted.

I made the post visible because it has some more information.

Hi Rc_widelands,
as your bandwith seems to be very low (a little bit More then 1 Megabyte per second) downloading our 427 MB installer might stall.

as this is something we can't do much about here are some things you might try to solve the issue:
- use a downloadmanager which might resume the failed download
- try to search for any recommendations about such errors in the firefox forums
- as you were able to download the source code you might try to compile yourself ( see https://www.widelands.org/wiki/BuildingWidelandsUnderWindowsNew/ for a how to)

Sorry for not beeing able to help more.

Hello,

I'm out in the middle of the cornfields of Indiana. We'll have fiber soon, I hope. I download a lot of stuff, and stream a lot of stuff every day. Often from github. While things can take a while on a bad day, I very rarely have failed downloads. Has anyone who previously downloaded the file tried downloading from github again? I'm sort of wondering if the file(s) there are corrupt and maybe uploading again might help?

I did a web search "torrent download Widelands-1.2.1-x64" and found this download (not a torrent) page. https://www.fileeagle.com/software/1554/Widelands/1.2.1 Using Windows 11, selected 64 bit download via Firefox.

It took about 10 minutes and downloaded successfully. I scanned it with Microsoft Defender, no current threats. Created a restore point. Installed the game. Loaded it up! Looks great!

Ron
