Hi developers! First of all a big thank you to all developers for releasing the new version of Widelands! Great job! Unfortunately I am using an old Macbook Pro (2014) with MacOS BigSur (Version: 11.7.10 (20G1427)). Would it be a big effort to provide Widelands 1.2 also for this version? Would be really great as I haven't planned to buy a new one. Thanks a lot and happy easter! Best regards, Dillinger Top Quote |

Hi, According to our policy we do only provide "official" packages for OS that are still supported by the vendor of the OS. Unfortunately Big Sur fell out of official Apple support in November 2023. So we won't provide an official package for Big Sur. However you might try to get it using MacPorts or Homebrew as described on our download page Edited: 2024-03-31, 13:35

Hello, What about MacOS Ventura (13.6)? Is there a particular reason why your builds for Apple Silicon are restricted to MacOS 14.0 and newer? I tried to download and launch it anyway but no success ("you need MacOS 14"). And of course the Intel build can't launch either. The thing is, I have an Apple M1 MacBook Air that I can't upgrade to MacOS X 14 yet for general (network) compatibility reasons, and I'd rather have a nice and clean "widelands.app" package that I can drag and drop anywhere instead of having to install MacPorts or Homebrew and then having either of those install widelands somehow. Is there any chance you could create Apple Silicon builds that are back compatible with MacOS 13 (or even 12?). I think those versions of the OS are still supported by Apple. Thanks for your help.
