You need to install libboost1.35 not libboost.

It would be nice if all was included so it does not have to be repaired before it will work!

That's a problem with Karmic. The only way would be to probably link the 1.38 libraries to 1.35 or recompile yourself (or get somebody provide compiled packages for build 14 for karmic). So for Karmic just install libboost-dev, not libboost1.35-dev. A change once again.

Just as I wrote on the mailing list:

I've just tried it out, and it does work.

Hello, tried to install Widelands under Karmic. It didn't work, so I searched in the Forum and found this post. And the ppa version works fine.

Is it possible, that someone write a little hint, in the download sektion.

So that the karmic users don't download the game twice ?

It's a wiki, so feel free to add ;). As I am not an ubuntu user, I do not want to add something I did not test myself.

Cheers

Hi!

I'm not a linux freak so please help me to install widelands build 14 under Karmic.

I tried the ppa from Gabriel but it only copies the files to /usr/share/games/widelands/

But nothing to start. There is also no starter.

So can someone write an easy-to-understand tutorial on how to install Widelandes B14 under Ubuntu 9.10 for Newbies like me?

Thanks!
