Only because that term was used in Settlers II?

I know that Widelands is not the Settlers any more. This is only the reason why "quarry" is there. This is only historical reason to leave that. Many things in the world is wrong and it is historical intended to be wrong.

I don't have a problem with leaving this one as it is. After all, stone is being quarried here, even if it isn't in the mountains.

Also, since some people will be used to the building from Settlers and it does the exact same thing, it will help with the initial learning curve for new players.

Bumping this discussion...

Amalea often addresses Lutius with "Hey". I agree with tuggyne that this sounds too modern, and I've never been happy with it. On the other hand, I'm thinking that "Hail" might be too formal.

What do the other native speakers think? Is there a 3rd alternative?

A friend of mine recommended using "Hie". Opinions?

First of all, it'd be "hi" not "hie". We never use "hie" in modern english, plus according to dictionary.com it's old/middle english not for "hello" but for "hasten".

That said, the problem is that "hi" is pretty informal; it doesn't make me think of Amalea and Lutius, but of someone in the 21st century (*maybe* the 20th century) saying hi to a friend. Furthermore, according to dictionary.com, it's more modern than "hey" (it only dates back to 1425-1475 AD, while "hey" and "hail" both date back to 1150-1200 AD).

So going with "hail" and "hreetings" are probably best -- even if terms like "hi" are suitable, they'd fit not with the important events the pop up, but the nonevents (such as them having an ordinary meal together).

...Okay, I took a look at the text. In most cases, you can probably drop the "hi"/"hey"/etc. completely. Exceptions would be when a sentence is only to greet someone. Some examples written off the time of my head (pretend they need more wood -- and obviously they don't need to be this blunt!):

Recommended:
"Hail, Lutius! We need more wood."
"Greetings, Lutius! We need more wood."
"Lutius, we need more wood."

Not recommended:
"Hail, Lutius, we need more wood."
"Greetings, Lutius, we need more wood."

I thought, "hail" is too formal? face-wink.png That’s the only phrase I’m really stumbling on. I guess, I would rather go with "Lutius, don’t you think you forgot something important?"

I have just added some more fixes that need review. This review can be done by anybody who has a good grasp of English. So, if our community could review them, it would take some weight off the development team face-smile.png

The fixes are all for issues that were raised by translators on Transifex. Thank you all for reporting!

ETA: This has been merged now.
