How long to the sign posts the geologists puts up last? I have noticed then disappearing for various reasons. The reason that's bad is because i can't remember what they had there, and when I send the geologist back he doesn't seem to want to put the same sign posts up... like when I send a geologist to a Flag I've already sent a geologist to, the latter goes reaalllllly far away to start his inspections. Is there a reason for that?

Furthermore, I have noticed that if the Flag I send the Geologist to is on grass, then the geologist looks for water in surrounding areas. And if the Flag is on Rock, then the Geologist looks for ores. Is that true?

Also, if you put a mine on an area that has none of the ore it's supposed to harvest, what message do you get? "exhuasted" or something else?

Oh those geologists are a handful to deal with. : )

The markers don't last long enough IMHO. Often they first ones placed disappear before the geo is even done working! : (

One trick I've learned is to put a empty mine where the geo finds what I want as soon as it is clear enough where everything is. That serves as a memory aid for when I need the mine. You see I don't build a road to the mine so it stays unbuilt but it works as a "planned" spot.

Yes rock=ores and grass=water. What happens on border spots I don't understand. It's been explained but I still don't get it.

Yes mines that don't find anything to mine do give a msg about exhaustion.

They last 10 minutes and are then removed. This was discussed before and IIRC there was consensus that it could be increased a bit (like to 15 minutes) but not longer because then they would clutter the scenery too much.

If your flag touches at least 1 mountain triangle, the geologist looks for ores; otherwise he looks for water. This behaviour is new in v1.0 iirc.

OK so triangle means ummm like a pointed outlier of a mountain even? So in other words anything that touches mountain terrain counts as mtn search starter?

It's good that folks have also noticed this as an issue. I'm not sure what iirc means, sorry. But I would suggest that these flags be treated in the same way other flags are - they have a vision toggle. Maybe I'll repost this in the game suggestion forum?
