## Widelands Map File ¶

Widelands uses a special type of maps, the Widelands Map Files (*.wmf). These files are zipped directorys with the following content: ¶

## Adding new maps ¶
### Linux ¶
These files can be found(extracted) in: /usr/share/games/widelands/maps ¶
Keep in mind that this folder will be owned by root, you wouldn't have write rights by default. ¶

### HowTo Ubuntu ¶
you could do the following: ¶

* *gksu nautilus ~/Downloads/* ¶
* open the wmf/map file by double clicking and leave the file open. ¶

* *gksu nautilus /usr/share/games/widelands/maps* ¶
* Drag and drop the content of the wmf file, the folder, to the rest of the maps. ¶
