Something tricky I just can't figure out is dismantling sentries (for example). Ideally one would like to get rid of them and free up the soldier and resources right after starting the next sentry to expand with but that creates a big problem, vision is highly reduced. One trick I did figure out is to dismantle every 2nd sentry because the conquer range is roughly half the vision range. But even that is not enough in some games where I must dismantle every non front line military building in order to hold off the computer's hordes! --

the trick is to make a few towers in your land. they have huge vision range. regarding the "i need everything to hold off the enemy", if you have large land and can't spare a few rookie soldiers then you either are losing anyway, or you are completely messing up your economy.

look at some replays of the actual tournament, it's really enlightening. Select those of good players, and you see what's the good practice are.
