I have again changed the alternative soldiers' level icons to make them easier to recognize. You'll find the details and an overview with the initial bug description at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/widelands/+bug/569534 Just replace the original icons by the ones contained in the archive. Comments are very welcome of course Being no programmer, I apologize for all my suggestions that imply undue workload and for other misjudgements due to lack of expertise or relevant skills. |

Still trying to find the best solution for this. In that context, it would help if I got some idea about the monitor resolution that you mostly play WL on, and on what screen size. The question bheind this is, how small a detail may become to be still visible. I play 1920 x 1200 x 32bit on 24". 1680x1050 on 15" No, not really Thats the native. I think 1024x768 is the best solution for this size (optically), but: menus are too small even on this size (at least for newbies like me), so I tend to play at 800x600. "Scratch any cynic and youll find a disappointed idealist." Top Quote |

I tend to play at ridiculously low 800x600 because I'm quite sensitive about frame rate. I really hope timowi picks up his OpenGL branch soon, otherwise I'll really get impatient Top Quote |

Upload my final attempt to https://bugs.launchpad.net/widelands/+bug/569534 Compared to the existing soldier icons they should be easier to recognise - escecially on higher resolution or smaller monitors. In addition you can now see which skills can still be trained and which ones are fully trained already.
