Well, I decided to take the latest alpha release of blender for a test ride. It looks great and all, but there is just one problem. Our current python rendering scripts are failing.

I don't know enough about python scripts to even begin to trouble-shoot this.

So, it looks like someone with some python experience will have to look into this before we can fully utilize blender 2.5.

Any volunteers?

Here is a link to their downloads page: http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/

Have fun..

Yes, I'm the culprit. But, this is the last week of university lessons, after, I'll probably have some time for widelands again. Right now, no, sorry face-smile.png

@Kiscsirke: No problem whatsoever. University most definitely must have priority over this! face-wink.png For now, we have all the tools we can use with Blender 2.49. Still it is good to know early that some changes will be required before a move to Blender 2.5 can be made.

Best wishes on your exams.

Chuck

Hello kingcreole, welcome to WL forum :) chuckw is currently working on lot of eye candy things including filling up all the missing graphics. But still we can have some help here and there. So please stick around in out IRC. Everything related to the wideland graphics is managed at https://launchpad.net/widelands-media . So There you can have the details of the existing bugs. Hope to see your creativity soon :) Good luck and have fun.

import bpy bpy.data.materials['PlayerColor'].diffuse_color[0]=1 bpy.data.materials['PlayerColor'].diffuse_color[1]=1 bpy.data.materials['PlayerColor'].diffuse_color[2]=1 bpy.data.materials['PlayerColor'].use_shadeless=1 bpy.data.materials['PlayerColor'].alpha=1

sets the material named PlayerColor to shadeless white... now i only need to know how to get all the other materials to black...
