New crash reports,

Are the crashes also in b19? If so, I wonder if they really should stop b20. Maybe not.

New crash reports, and I sometimes need a break from bug fixing face-wink.png

I feel with you face-sad.png

There so many good things ready planned after build 20 we could have a new feature freeze close after releasing build 20 face-grin.png

The idea is not that bad. Especially if the feature freeze will be as long as this one, it would be necessary to do it like you say (no matter if you are joking or not face-wink.png ) - in order to reach a 'space of time' like half a year between the builds.

We'll finally go into winter freeze today face-smile.png

I'd like us to test the following things manually before the release - who wants to help?

  1. Test replays with all win conditions
  2. Play the tutorials
  3. Fiddle with the user interface and try to break stuff
  4. Play a multiplayer game - maybe we should all try to get on the lobby this weekend?

Great news! Congratulations!

I'd like us to test the following things manually before the release - who wants to help? (...)

I remember that there were few announcements like "this weekend is a playing Widelands time!"
https://wl.widelands.org/news/2011/Jul/13/play/

Maybe releasing B20 RC 1 and test it will help? I am not sure how do you like giving more RCs than one ;).

There is still one (code related) bug open. Which version should be used for doing the things you mentioned?

Testing should be done on current trunk.

We'll leave that bug open as a known issue, because it is so hard to reproduce. It could delay the release indefinitely, and I don't want to wait any longer.

All tutorials work, and it seems all campaigns do, I tested them last week and do not intend to bore myself stupid retesting Frisian campaigns again, but at least they load and start OK.

Don't know if i have that much time this weekend, but sounds like fun.

Thanks for testing, TribalChief! That is indeed sufficient for the tutorials & campaigns, there were no changes to their code since you tested them.

I wasn't thinking of anything specific - be creative.

I managed to break Tutorial 1 by doing very silly things, but that's an old issue, so we'll leave that one for now. I'm already working on it in a branch for Build 21.

The german translation for all campaigns is good but from frisian2 I have it not checked in the game. Maybe it will be a little bit to hard for not so good players to play frisian2.
