black borders on Atlantean signs

It definitely sets them more apart from the yellowish mountain terrains. But it seems a bit strange as the other tribes don’t use such a border (one could argue with the different cultures though). Can you perhaps try to use the texture from the Atlantean buildings? I don’t know, if that would make visibility better or worse, but maybe it’s worth a try?

I have tried using the material of the Atlantean military buildings for their signs and it made for very effective camouflage, and subsequently not very good visibility. face-smile.png
The challenge has been to find not one but three different designs that will stand out from all of the various terrains and at the same time not obscure their resource symbol. I can appreciate why there was only one set of markers originally. face-smile.png

the #2 version or possibly Nasenbaer's rectangle for small amounts

Vote for #2. The rectangle especially of the brighter colours are not easy to distinguish at the Atlanteans signs. Must be the tribe, I think.

These crafty Atlanteans do tend to blend into the background. face-wink.png

the A version of the Empire signs (lighter gray background)

Most people voted for B, the darker background, as I see it.

I will trust your audit.

brighter water color for the barbarians and empire blue crystal

Hmm… I think that can be very confusing, especially for new players, when light blue at the two first tribes (according to the tutorial scenarios) means water and the next tribe uses the same (or nearly the same) colour for a completely different resource. That’s more important as the stone colours from the other tribes are similar to each other.

The only defense I would have is that the water signs would never be seen on the same terrain as crystal. I'll see what I can do...

blank sign for no resources

I read “sign with cross” one time more often than “blank sign”.

Again I defer to your tabulations. face-smile.png

I will assemble your results into one conclusive proposal and present it here soon.

Thanks for everyone's input. Stay tuned.

For me the new design looks fine face-smile.png

One needs to get used to the black border of the atlantean signs, but this really helps on some of the terrains.

I hope you don't get into trouble if some day another tribe is added. It could be difficult to find fourth sign background. Of course I know this is not planned at the moment.

We'll cross that bridge if/when we get to it. face-grin.png
