Hi,

For some reason build 13 on Linux has gone kapput.

I've been playing it a week, and no probs other than having to delete V12 off my system 1st.

Yesterday i clicked the icon to play as usual in my home folder, and it does nothing, not even a warning/error message. I went into folder in terminal and tried to run widelands from there but, it says widelands is not installed, please type in apt-get widelands to install. (this downloads V12 again, so i didn't do that).

I treid to download it again, it did, but the folder totally dissapeared on my computer. I tried again, same thing, even though all downloads go to my desktop. I checked temp folders etc and did search also, including hidden files.

this morning tried again, downloaded to desktop. But, after extracting, i click on widelands and it does nothing at all. I tried to run in terminal, but says i need to install widelands.

I downloaded it again, and now it says 'null-value'. What has happened? I've not changed anything on my laptop.

I'm running ubuntu 8.10.

Cheers!

To run something on Linux, you do not simply type the name of binary (like 'widelands') in terminal. Before it there must be a dot and a slash (so './widelands' - this means the file is in the current directory) in the same directory as binary is.

What does it return now?

Ok, did as above, says "./widelands: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory".

So i need to find libSDL? I found in Synaptics, installed, tried to run, still says xcannot find.

I tried to install through terminal, it does something, but wont run the game.
