It there was one day and time(last sunday at 18:00 GMT?) per month when there was a public game hosted, it could be awesome. Regularity would let one plan game time face-smile.png

yes of course that would be very nice face-grin.png

Only negative point is for those who must be there to have a server open face-wink.png face-tongue.png ... but no you are absolutely right - perhaps we could simply note it in the news when we plan such a multiplayer day to motivate even more people to meet us in the chat - perhaps we than could even make some tournaments - winner of one game against winner of another game face-wink.png

I also though of adding a regular tournament to every release cycle. For example: build14 rc released -> Tournament to check for remaining bugs -> release.

We could even have some kind of history on the tournamentes here on the page.

What do you think?

sounds like a good idea - so we would combine testing with public relations that's quite perfect face-grin.png

So good idea face-grin.png

What about the reward for the winner?

If it exist one we could make some publicity every where face-grin.png

if you find a sponsor face-wink.png

Anyway, we could create a pointmap - players get points for each player they defeat... but that's surely better to implemented after build14 via ggz or similiar.

Regular games would be enough for now, ggz and points could be implemented some other time. I hope that build14 will be released soon, so that games start quickly as well :).

Actually ggz is already working fine on my local machine face-smile.png - just statistics will need some more work. The main problem is, that Wideland does not have Victory triggers at the moment.

But well.. let's see.

A mention in the source code! Could have a hall of fame face-smile.png

Immortalised in the Widelands code for ever more...what more prize could you ask for!
