The first two bugs I've noticed so far-

1- Much of the content appears in reverse order. That is, the last line in a section is the line that should be read first and the first line in a section is the line that should be read last. This doesn't seem to apply to all of the content, for example, in the introduction section, starting with "Online Help" the lines are ordered correctly. Also in the tips section, starting with "Single Player" the lines are ordered correctly.

2-In the additional tabs in the encyclopedia, where the entries are like resources and buildings, etc., the Hebrew translation is above the icons.

I can't reproduce the wrong order in the help's about section. Using hebrew as language the text is not localized at all for e.g. the introduction like in your screenshot. For me the text is shown in English.

I can reproduce the issue with text shown above an image. This happens, beside in the help window, also in the message popup.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that this is in the development version... The regular version doesn't include these translations (which I recently made) and also doesn't work properly, can't load a game...

The code is supposed to detect when your language is using a right-to-left font, but it obviously doesn't work on your system... So what operating system are you using?

The list of items is correct on my Debian buster system in X11 with self compiled executable, see attached image.

However, since it depends on the fonts, maybe it matters whether your installation uses system fonts, like IIRC the official Debian package.

BTW the handling of right-to-left languages is not very well tested, so your reports can be very helpful.

widelands ships his own fonts for this, does the system language/font matter?

I rebuild current master and the list of items is not shown correct, see image.

arikari, is the order of text in the tribal encyclopedia correct here? At least i notice a difference from the image you postet.

The String of "x % translated to your language" looks a bit wired (bottom/top), but may be caused by the mixed localization.

However, since it depends on the fonts, maybe it matters whether your installation uses system fonts, like IIRC the official Debian package.

How to determine this? I tried to start with the --verbose flag but the only relevant info i found is:

[00:00:01.244 real] INFO: Font handler created

First of all, thanks for the response.

I am using Windows 11.

I think the differences you see are because I continued to translate and correct any misspellings I found..

Anyway, the picture you sent of the encyclopedia has exactly the first problem I described. And it even looks worse than mine.. I mean, yours is missing the "controls" and the "tips"

I forgot to attach a picture.

Maybe the difference you're talking about is actually because of the large font add-ons.

In this picture I marked the wrong reading order. Instead of reading from top to bottom and right to left, read from bottom to top, then where the link is, jump down again.
