Is there the possibility to get an AppImage of version 1.1~git25864 (b301eaa@master) somewhere?

Is it possible that Widelands performs poorly if run via AppImage? Trying to watch the tournament replay right now, but it seems to be limited to like 10x speed even if I push it to 50x or something like that.

I've never ever seen Widelands being that slow, even though I had a much slower pc some years ago. Or maybe its a problem of the version.

Some days ago I tried to compile Widelands, but it crashed : /

That must be a problem with either the AppImage or your system. On my self-compiled build the first half-hour part of that replay runs through in twenty seconds when I set the speed to 300×.

My system is fine, it seems...

I installed ppa-Widelands today - is it fully compatible with the tournament version? I could watch the whole tournament replay, this time without performance issues.

When I watch the replay with the appImage version, the interface looks different. Maybe this version is debug and thats why the performance is bad?

The GitHub tag offers both debug and release versions. A different interface and bad performance sound very much like a debug version; the version string at the bottom of the main menu should tell you whether this is the case…

There have been several commits since the tournament version, but only to the build system, graphics engine, and translations; nothing that affects gameplay. So it's compatible.

Ok, I accidently got the debug version

Awesome, thanks for the information
