In order to avoid traffic jams (mostly caused by the AI), it would be good if there was still a road type with 3 or more carriers per segment. The roads with increased capacity would need some type of balance. Either they might cost resources to build or take up more space. Otherwise I feel like increasing the carrier count will weaken gameplay by making road planning too easy. Top Quote |

The idea is, that only the basic carrier is for free. Carrier type 2+ had buildcosts. The classic tribes use animals (horse, donkey, cattle) as a second carrier type, which are "recruite" in farms.

+1 But for Amazons it has to be something else for the third carrier, they don't have any iron. Maybe 1 or 2 types of their rare trees stuff.
