Excellent!! face-smile-big.png

I'll try to avoid frivolous requests, but the hunter still could use a "stalking" vs. "walking" program. face-wink.png

No rush on that, though. For now, I certainly have enough to keep me busy. face-grin.png

I at last had a look at that new animations. Cute. face-wink.png

But one thing that's odd is at the walking animation. The soldiers hold their left arm as if they're carrying their shield though they don't have any. It would be better, if the arm hung down as it can be seen at the other people.

Yes, that would be nice. face-smile.png

Two is the oddest prime.

I was aiming for the look of a swagger in the walking animation, but you are right. From certain angles like SW, it does look like he is posed for carrying a shield.

I've just pushed new animations (see trunk rev#5604) and I'd like everyone's comments. I'll tweak the walk and get that in as soon as I can.

Thanks, Venatrix, for that "discerning eye". face-smile-big.png

Barbarian soldier swings his arm now. (see bzr trunk rev# 5605)

For those of you who have not seen the latest development release, I thought I'd share a peak at the new new barbarian death animation. face-smile.png

The soldier drops his weapons die_11... then fades die_15... from die_17... view die_19 (It looks better in the game.) face-wink.png

The attack and evasion and idle animations have been tweaked to smooth out some of the "choppiness". (Pun intended.) face-smile-big.png

Now it's on to the empire! After all, it's only fair to let it strike back. (Gee, that has a familiar ring to it...)

Okay. What do you think of THIS Imperial Storm Trooper? face-smile.png

East SE SW West

Where you see white (i.e. crest, shield, sleeves & tunic) will be player color in the game. The lorica (body armor) and helmet are bright metal. If you look real close at the first two images, you can see the reflection of the spear head in the helmet. Of course, you'll never see this detail in the game, but it's there. face-smile-big.png

And speaking of player color, here are a couple shots from within the game:

Emp1 Emp2 Emp3 Emp4 Emp5

There is no cape/cloak, but I think there is ample player color without one.

Will this guy pass muster?

Comments?

Very nice... I like him. But I think the brush on the helmet is a bit to big. It looks good in the big shots, but it dominates in the ingame shots. I'd suggest reducing the radius by ~20-30% maybe. Otherwise this guy rocks!

Yes, I might have gotten a little carried away with the brush. face-smile-big.png I'll trim it and push the walking animation to trunk while I work on the battle animation.
