Hello , on my installation of Windows 10 Microsoft Defender blocks the execution of the build21 installer. Is there a way to tell Microsoft that Widelands is legit? Or is the Installation file on the server somehow infected? Best Regards Kai Top Quote |

If you downloaded widelands from the website it is unlikely that's infected. Does the Defender say why it thinks the installer is blocked? Some anti virus software find widelands suspicious probably because widelands make use of un/zipping of files. Fight simulator for Widelands: |

Well it is just saying that Microsoft Defender SmartScreen blocked the start of an unknown app. I know it is probably more than safe to just execute it, but it would still be interesting what could be done to not have this error in the future / for other users. I would add a screenshot but it looks that this is not possible in the forum Top Quote |

You have to ask Microsoft for an answer
I think its the same as shown here Uploading files here in the forum is only allowed if you have at least 5 posts written. Fight simulator for Widelands: |

Thank you for the link, that sounds like a good explanation. I've uploaded the installer to virustotal.com and afterwards just executed it. I'd assume that after some time and a couple of users installed it it will no longer be blocked by Microsoft Defender. Thanks for the great work on Widelands Kai Top Quote |
