Great! I think i'll join via internet. 1. Will it be possible to alter the gamespeed when both players agree? 1x is really slooow (I usually play 3x). 2. Why does Kristin have to know, witch tribe one is going to play the next game? Will it allways (when possible) be tribe A vs. tribe A (not A vs. B/C) ? 3. Do you have a Teamspeak server? 4. How the hell can I post these questions as a list?

  1. Sure, the 2 players can pretty much play the game how they like to.
  2. You can choose the perfect tribe for the map. The idea of making it a secret is that your opponent can't say: Oh, he's using the atlanteans, I will then choose to use the barbarians; otherwise I would have chosen Empire. It will therefore obviously not be AvA all the time.
  3. Nope, no teamspeak.
  4. Just make the list a paragraph (an empty line before it) and each item one line.

Comeon people! We have 4 signups so far; another 4 would be great.

We will play the tournament also with 4 players, but we can't do a double elimination then.

Just out of interest: How can organizers and players be sure that noone cheats, for example by hacking the source to give certain wares from nowhere or give ones soldiers a subtle advantage over the others? My guess would be that this shows up in the replays that are sent in...

The whole game logic is executed on every participating system and if a client diverges, it is disconnected with a message that the logic was not synchronized. So the client can not cheat. The host could of course cheat (pretending that a player sent a command or accusing a client of desyncing), but the organizers will run the host.

(Of course everyone can see everything in the game (not yet explored, under fog, inside other players building or economy configurations). The organizers can only prevent that if they provide systems to the local players to play on (or watch them over the shoulder if they play on their own systems.)

You can theoretically reveal the whole map - this is the only cheat possible. We cannot check for this, but it is not as big an advantage as it is in other games and there is not much on stake - and we trust our player base.
