Occupying empty military buildings isn't good, imho. What about giving the military building no player color if it is empty and assign the player color only if it has at least one soldier? But in general i think this problem is not really big, so the solution should be as less invasive as possible. Fight simulator for Widelands: |

Apart from that it would look strange imho, this would work for atlanteans (and could be done simply by copying the idle anim without the pc mask to create the unocc anim) but not for empire because emp milsites don't even have playercolour Top Quote |

Rather than add any new mechanic I think it's a case of understanding that this is a problem that's been semi-solved, and that we need to be patient until someone with the necessary graphics skills is able to give their time to complete implementation. Good point but it seems the empire graphics were last modified like 13 years ago. Since we haven't had any active emp/atl graphic developers for a long time it might easily take years until a volunteer with the skills to refine the graphics accordingly turns up. Bit long, we should consider a (light-weight!) way to work around this issue until then. Alternatively we could easily modify the atlanteans milsites to have no playercolour when unoccupied and add some placeholder PC masks to the empire milsites. Then they might not look as good as they do now though. Top Quote |
