@kaputtnik and stdh: Thank you very much! stdh, your hint with the editor was succesfull: I created an empty map and suddenly the folder appeared somewhere in one of my two widelands-folders. It's magic! Now it works face-smile.png

@king_of_nowhere: Why should they take the two artifacts which are close? Like I said: "If each player is close to two artifacts, they cannot win fast, but they don't want to have a draw. "

in theory, everyone would grab an artifact, then they could go fighting to steal them before taking the last. but there are a couple reasons this is unlikely to happen in most games:

  • unless you knew exactly where the artifacts are, it would be very easy to capture them by mistake. and at this point you can't uncapture them anymore.

  • most players don't make that much calculation. they would just expand naturally, and grab the artifacts.

of course, I may be wrong. But i envisioned, like, 6 draws if I did nothing.

Having an odd number of artifacts is a good idea for a 1:1 game, this way there can't be a draw.

by the way, kristin, toptopple, did you scheduled a time to finish your game? I counted two weeks for a turn to take into account latecomers, but if we can wrap it up in one week it's better

We played yesterday. After a while Kristin left the game and claimed I have won. ;) Are you still in need of the replay files?

kristin sent them to me. it was a good game. I really thought kristin was going to win at the beginning.

My secret weapon was a Woodcutter who went stealing in the neighbour's garden! ;)
May I now claim "I was holding place 1 in the Widelands 2016 Torunament"? Great!

Are there already replays which can be downloaded?

Suggestion: Add a link to the replays (or replay page) to the tournament news section and keep this news section sticky until the tournament is over. Or use the wiki page of the tournament which already has a section for replays which currently states: TODO: add link to replay downloads.

For round 3, we will be playing Wood Gnome. In case a player loses all his buildings, the game will still continue (-> open bug), so we will have to declare the last man standing as a winner manually.

Downloadable replays of all matches would be a great idea! It's comparable to media hype in Olympics etc. Also, some enthusiasts may even use them as a kind of a "playing academy".
