Those terrains are used in the above screenshot (the two foresters stands on it), but they are covered with the trees face-grin.png

I will provide a new screenshot... maybe tomorrow.

Unfortunately i have forgotton to update the branch with the new desert forested mountain. And because i am working on a different computer, i am not sure if the screenshot shows exactly the same terrains. Normally they should be exact the same, because i used the same gimp-xcf file for storing the terrains, but one terrain seems to be more yellowish than in the first screenshot face-upset.png May it depends on the current laptop i am working with, because the display is not as good as on my other computer (there is no icc profile available for this screen). The terrains aren't reworked yet to have less green.

comparison with mountain meadow

Mountain meadow terrain is used on two spots on the mountains and on the beginning of the mountains. They are not very distinguishable but the buildhelp shows where they are.

I can identify the mountain meadow now face-smile.png

What I am noticing in this screenshot is that both the mountain meadow and the mountaintops have some red in it, which the new terrain doesn't. Maybe that is what's off here - try replacing some green with a bit of red to get more continuity between the terrains.

The mountain terrains from desert have a color range between redish and brownish. I've selected all of and placed the terrains. So the terrains patterns are set randomly and sometimes it's more redish and sometimes more brownish face-smile.png

Heres another one with less green:

From my point of view the new terrain does not distinguish very well with the other mountain. So i would prefer my first attempt. It's really clear that this terrain stands for fertility:

frist attempt

Apropos fertility: I will change the tooltips and the icons for "dry" to never show them "treeless". Instead i will use an icon with a road and a flag and the tooltip say's "walkable". This needs changing also some code for the terrain menu (and other files), but i am able to do it. I think it is clear for now, that the is-value doesn't depend on the terrain affinities face-smile.png

Maybe a mix between the 2 images in your last post would be best - I think the first image blends in visually a lot better because of the red - it is a lot more harmonious. However, it would be OK to have more green in it like in the second picture, to show the fertility.

i am conflicted. on one hand, the more green one is more clearly fertile, and more distinguishable from the regular, barren mountain. on the other, the more yelllow one blends better with the other mountain - although the greener one blends better with mountain meadow.

i like both, but iif i had to vote, i'd pick the greener one.

The current state... i gave summer a bit more pink and i think less green is better for desert:
