You could just translate it as "mines", or "Minengelände" or "Bergbau" or something like that.

what are the chances that the new terrain will be merged within a few weeks? I have my map mostly done, and I'd rather use it if available.

I think we should have such terrains for all biomes and merge this if all terrains are ready. So it could take a while... maybe in December (if no other than me does the work earlier). I want to solve this bug before working on the terrains.

Color/contrast harmony is good, but I think it looks too green, needs to be more yellow-ish if possible.

I like that a lot, nice colors. I also like the selection of trees growing on it, i think it reflects well the transition between hot desert climate and temperate subalpine climate. II don't think it needs more yellow; this is a terrain where trees are supposed to grow, like a meadow or an oasis. it's wetter and more fertile than the desert surrounding it.

Yes, but deserts are usually connected with sand and rocks. So small yellow spots should appear somewhere face-smile.png

The main thing why i do not make it more yellow-isch is that it should look like desert mountains because it is mountainous (mineable) terrain. I used two of the already available desert mountain terrains and changed only some colors. And desert mountains aren't yellow face-smile.png

More yellow would make it look more like the irreclaimable (dry) desert terrains (imho). If we agree that fertile terrains (good for trees) has to be more greenish, we shouldn't use colors which are recognized as "dry". Maybe less green would do it.

Yes, less green should do it. I just think it looks a bit lush right now. So a mixture of rock, sand and vegetation would be nice face-smile.png

@kaputtnik:

Can you compare new mountains with "high mountain meadow" and "mountain meadow" for desert? Probably mixing those terrain types will be very common.
