In addressing missing Blender models for various buildings of the barbarians in Bug #677337, I have worked up remodels of the tavern, Inn and Big Inn.

What do you think?

tavern tav inn inn big inn big

I think the differences between tavern and inn need to be more pronounced - they are hard to distinguished if not seen side by side. Looks good otherwise!

tavern should be bit smaller, probably shorter. Thought it seems the inn has two floors, taver only one, but this diference is not obvious on the first glance.

Well, aside from the fact that the tavern has one level, only two beer barrels, one table and an open cook fire while the inn has two stories with a balcony, three beer barrels, two tables and a stone cooking hearth, I can see where they can be confused. face-grin.png

I appreciate your comments. The style of the roof with its large overhang on the ends tends to mask the true height of the building. I will shorten (lengthwise) the tavern and give it a different color for the roof, maybe some moss or something.

Thanks

tavern1 tav tavern15 t15 inn inn

big inn big

Tavern has been resized and some signage (that's supposed to resemble a tankard with foam) added. I considered a blinking neon sign, but figured the barbarians aren't quite that flashy, not to mention they don't have electricity. face-grin.png

Comments please.

If the color of the balcony was more distinct from the color of the walls, this would already make the tavern/inn more distinguishable.

The balcony rails are player color and would generally have more contrast in the game.

Yes, they are easy to distinguish if you them side by side. But if you only have one - is it the one or the other? I think enhanced buildings need to be very distinguishable in general.

I think tavern1 and inn are very good, tavern 15 is probably a bit small for a medium sized building.

Tavern16 presents an alternative sign. What do you think? Use a sign or not?

Maybe use a sign on tavern1?
