It would be nice to define custom buildings. We can adjust ware(change some wood into stone, to increase resistance and decrease upkeep). There can occurs seldom events, like storm, etc. Additionally buildings build with worse ware needs delivering this ware(stone buildings don't need often repairs, but wooded yes).

Why this feature. It will increase reality and force player to rebuild many places. When we are small country and don't have many stones, we shall build uses wood only. Once we have more stones/marble, we should rebuild all buildings in new style, because we climb/cut too many trees, so we don't have wood to upkeep our buildings.

It would be very nice feature. Also stone fortress can take many damage, but it's not very interesting feature for now - Widelands don't have catapults.

What do you think? Changing base ware for buildings and city style can be good idea? I know, we have already many cultures/civilization, so it can broke this feature.

Of course, we climb too many tress/forests, but also build too many buildings in this territory. Additionally, if we don't have stones, we can fallback to wooded buildings.

Well - of course just my opinion face-wink.png - I will not spend a second in implementing such a feature.

Do not get me wrong. It sounds interesting and is surely nice to have in certain games, but it's simply not the game style we (the majority of developers) would like to have.

That's the same reason, why nobody is planing to implement a catapult (like in Settlers 2).

Of course reality is a point, but things should not be too complex and we are already at a point, where some people think they are too complex - talking about the "natural" tree cycle implemented in Build14 here...

So yes, it is a nice idea, but no, I do not think it will ever be implemented.
