Hi,

I am working on experimental map, map that combines few previous worlds together. Here is a screenshot

and here is a link for download

Just be aware that you need current development build to play it.

So far it doesnt look much realistically, I think higher "fragmentation" is needed - to get smoother transitions between biomes. The final map is generated from three maps:

* height map
* temperature map
* moisture map

To some degree it is possible to distinquish which regions are cold, which wet and dry...

What do you think about this?

Once it will be bit more polished I will upload it to maps section.

It does not load with current trunk build 7063:

Mapselect: Skip maps\Patchlands.wmf due to preload error: [c:/data/bzr/widelands/trunk/src/profile/profile.cc:566] [] elemental:0: ZipFilesystem::Load: could not open file from zipfile (working on 'elemental' in zipfile 'C:\Users\mit.widelands\maps\Patchlands.wmf')

For me, it works. I have the option "Do not save as zip files" disabled, maybe that is the problem.

Tino

did you manage to open it at the end?

If not, can you unpack it with a zip archiver?

I used tibor-ai3 branch to create it, but I believe there should be no significant differencies in comparison to trunk.

The map looks great!

Only one thing is confusing: why the winterwolrd (very cold) is just next to the desert (hot)?

And to polish something: add some stones, because it will be a bit hard to play.

Hi, I reworked algorithm a bit and here is another map, I think more polished

But more polish is still needed. But it needs a lot of work face-smile.png
