Since outside Scenarios the Objectives menu is empty at the moment, how about putting the Win Conditions in there?

This way, people won't have to scroll past all archived messages to get at them, and I think this might be helpful especially to people new to the game.

Good idea/bad idea?

I think this is a good idea. I had already wondered why this is not the case, but I think that was before I became a forum member (that is why I did not write it).
Sending the win condition in a message is rather unusual because when it is sent in the beginning of the game, I remember the win condition I have chosen. Later in the game, scrolling through the archive is inappropriate for such basic information. When this is implemented, we do not need to send a message anymore. We could precise the win conditions better (I do not know what the texts currently say - I normally do not read them) because there is more space in the objectives menu than in the news window.

I think keeping the message as well is OK - maybe with a note at the bottom that you can see it in the objectives menu?

Experienced players won't need the message if we have it in the objectives, but I think it would be helpful to newbies to have both.

Since there are no objections, I have created a bug report https://bugs.launchpad.net/widelands/+bug/1322473
